This summer, Toronto comes alive with the rhythm, culture, and excitement of Socacize in the Square! We are turning up the heat for our July fitness series by handing Sankofa Square over to Socacize Fitness for a vibrant, high-energy Caribbean and African dance fitness takeover.

Join us for an unforgettable celebration where fitness, Caribbean culture, music, and community collide. Whether you’re coming to sweat, support local vendors, enjoy the entertainment, or spend quality time with family and friends, there’s something for everyone. This is your invitation to move, connect, celebrate, and FLAUNT your best self all summer long!

    Walk-ins are always welcome, but signing up in advance helps us plan!

  • Note: All participants are required to complete a waiver. You can fill one out onsite or download it here to sign in advance.

6:00 PM — Pre-Pump music with DJ DOC

6:30 PM — Socacize Kidz with Ayanna Lee-Rivears

7:00 PM — Drum Circle with Keith Pascall

7:30 PM — Socacize Jam Session with instructors Ayanna and Nevedita plus DJ Dr. Jay

8:30 PM — Post-Pump music with DJ DOC

Featured Session: Socacize Kidz is a creative blend of Caribbean & African dance movements set to the rhythms of soca, calypso, reggae, dancehall and on occasion hip hop. This exhilarating total body workout welcomes children aged 8 to 14 years old to join a 30-minute session.

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS & ARTISTS

Ayanna Lee-Rivears

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Ayanna Lee-Rivears is a dynamic performer, fitness instructor, and the visionary founder of Socacize® Fitness. Known globally as the “Limbo Dancer Extraordinaire,” she draws on her rich background in Caribbean folk and African dance to create fun, inclusive, and culturally enriching workouts. Celebrating over 18 years in the fitness industry, Ayanna empowers participants to boost their confidence and mental well-being through her signature F.L.A.U.N.T. philosophy and innovative programs like Socacize Kidz. @ayanna_oonie


DJ DOC

Known internationally as “Canada’s Diplomat,” DJ DOC brings over three decades of talent, energy, and crowd-commanding charisma to the stage. As one of the country’s most versatile and respected DJs, his deep musical knowledge and ability to read any crowd have made him a beloved staple on Canadian radio and live stages alike. A featured DJ for Socacize fitness events, DJ DOC delivers infectious energy and authentic Caribbean vibes that keep audiences moving all night long. @dejaydoc


DJ Dr. JAY

Known worldwide as “De Soca Prince,” Dr. Jay is a pioneering DJ, cultural curator, and founder of Kingdom Of Soca whose impact has transformed the Caribbean music landscape in Toronto and expanded its global reach. For over 30 years, he has championed Soca music through sold-out events, international performances, and influential media platforms, while creating landmark opportunities that have elevated Caribbean culture onto some of Canada’s biggest stages.


Keith Pascall

Raised in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Pascall embraced his cultural roots early as an international dancer, choreographer, and teacher. After settling in Toronto in 1987, he dedicated himself to sharing Afro-Caribbean dance and drumming, founding the Tropical Youth Group and the Hummingbird Dancers. Today, Keith continues to inspire as the Lead Choreographer and Drum Instructor for Brantford Caribbean Dance Vibration, and he recently launched his newest venture, KPASS Folk Performers and Drummers.
